Idaho’s Native Orchids

February 2 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Idaho may not be a tropical mecca. But did you know it boasts 28 species of native orchids?

That includes the bog orchid, with its white flowers climbing up a tall stalk. Also, the magnificent Calypso bulbosa, a magenta-colored flower also known as the fairy slipper. And the Cypripedium parviflorum, which despite its difficult name is a beautiful bulbous flower also known as a yellow lady’s slipper.

Dr. Lynn Kinter, lead botanist at the Idaho Natural Heritage Program/Idaho Department of Fish and Game, will give an illustrated talk on Idaho’s native orchids.

Class is FREE, but please RSVP here or call 208-389-4769
